Group Account Executive

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide assistance to producers in handling, processing, quoting of group lines of business.
  2. Provide in-house customer service to clients as assigned and requested.
  3. Manage day to day client relationship and renewal process for a specified book of business.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist producers in researching information necessary for preparation of bid specifications; may gather much of the information on renewals, agent will gather most on new business.
  2. Request bids from carriers for large group carriers; follow-up on receipt of proposals and verify that they need bid specifications.
  3. Shop and analyze products for small group renewals.
  4. Make recommendations to producers regarding quotes, ideas, issues, needing to be addressed.
  5. Prepare proposals, renewal presentations and compliance documents for new and renewal groups.
  6. Deliver renewal presentations with producer.
  7. Assist with, collect and send to carrier all new coverage or renewal contract documentation.
  8. Assist with employee enrollment meetings along with producer and follow-up on approval of cases.
  9. Administer employee enrollments, changes, COBRA enrollments.
  10. Working with producer, set service schedules.
  11. Set-up and maintain client files.
  12. Document service issues and meetings/phone calls with client. Also document conversations and follow-up on problems with clients.
  13. Proof booklets and contracts for accuracy; report inaccuracies to the insurance carriers for correction and reprinting.
  14. Research claims, enrollment and billing inquiries for clients upon request.
  15. Special projects such as payroll stuffers and employee hand-outs regarding benefits upon request of client.
  16. Do special projects as determined by manager and/or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be a self-starter, imaginative and creative with good communication skills both verbal and written. Should have thorough understanding of group underwriting, coverages, and the relationship between employers, their employees, and their insurance carriers.
  2. Minimum two years’ experience in similar position is desirable. Must be licensed per state requirements.
